Why BMC Material is Suitable for Speaker Shells?
The BMC composite material speaker shell is especially suitable for the speaker of the combined audio system. The BMC composite material speaker shell is a new type of speaker shell that replaces the wooden shell. The BMC composite material speaker shell has higher specific gravity and rigidity, and higher than wooden materials its acoustic effect. The higher the material density of the speaker shell, the greater the sound because it reduces the vibration generated by the speaker, especially the active speakers with high-power amplifiers, so that the sound can be restored more realistically. The density of BMC composite material is much greater than that of plastic. Therefore, the effect of BMC composite speaker shells is better than that of plastic speaker shells.
The BMC composite material speaker shell is manufactured using BMC composite material through compression molding process. BMC composite material is different from traditional wood, cast aluminum, or plastic materials. It belongs to resin-based composite material and is a new type of speaker material. BMC composite material is a new type of thermosetting material developed in the early 1970s. The United States calls it bulk molding compound (BMC) while the United Kingdom and Europe call it dough molding compound (DMC) and Japan calls it premix (PMC). BMC composite material is made of highly reactive unsaturated polyester resin or its modified resin as the matrix, adding low shrinkage resin, chopped glass fiber, mineral fillers and modifiers, mold release agents, pigments and other pre-mixed masses. BMC composite material has excellent physical and mechanical properties, especially high flexural strength and compressive strength; dimension stability; good heat resistance and low temperature resistance, and stable mechanical properties in a wide temperature ranges, It can serve for a long time at -60~150℃, and the material has low water absorption, small shrinkage, high dimensional accuracy and good rigidity. The BMC composite material can be colored freely, so the speaker shell has a large degree of freedom in design. It can be hot-pressed at one time and has high production efficiency. However, the initial mold cost is relatively high, and a certain amount of support is required.
