SMC Cable Trays

There are many types of materials for producing cable trays like sheet metal, thermoplastics, wood, or concrete. But these traditional materials are not staying long in outdoor applications like subway, train, or power stations because of chemical corrosion, UV, acid rain, or dusty wind. Some metal trays can even be stolen and destroyed. Serving lives of these traditional materials are within 10 years maximally. SMC (sheet molding compound) material perfectly solved these issues. 

SMC material is well resistant to chemical including most acids, alkali and almost all types of oils. It is as strong as metal but 4 times less weight. Transportation costs, installing costs are greatly reduced. SMC material has very good ability of weather proof. It can serve in outdoor environment for over 30 years with maintenance free. One more important property of SMC for cable trays is that SMC material is completely insulated itself. It can avoid most of dangerous electrical accidents to people, animal or equipments around the cable trays. It is very flexible to design a SMC cable tray. 

SMC can flow into small and complicated features during molding process and the molding process is a very high efficient way of manufacturing cable trays. It is a one-step process while for sheet metal, it usually needs several steps. Manufacturing cost saving is reachable by using SMC material.
