Electrical Meter Boxes

Electric meters, gas meters and water meters all require suitable, sustainable, rigid, light weight and cheap boxes to protect the inner meters and facilities. Sheet molding compound (SMC) material can meet all these typical requirements. SMC material is a composite material mixed with polyester resin, mineral and chemical agents and reinforced with fiberglass. It is with very low density, but as strong as metal or we can even say stronger than metal. It is withstanding weather and can serve outdoor for over 30 years without maintenance being needed. It is fire resistant, and chemical resistant. It wouldn’t rust or be attracted by mouse or other hungry animals. The production of such boxes made up of SMC material is called compression molding. Compression molding is a very high efficient way of production. The property of SMC material decides that it can be easily made to various shapes and structures. It is very design-flexible. The high efficiency makes the cost of SMC box very low. SMC material is a very low cost material for meter boxes.
